Take off out of Detroit 40 minutes late.
I've got a window seat and I notice after 20 minutes of flying we're still quite low.
Capt comes on - the gear won't go up.
We turn around and land again. Currently at gate no idea of status.
I guess give the choice of gear not up or gear not down - I'll take gear not up.

I'm in the hotel - flying tomorrow. Hopefully will be less exciting.

Well, I'm glad to see another post! Even if it's for a not-so-fun reason. What a bummer about the flight! Safe flying tomorrow... I am flying from Madrid to London today, so I'm praying for smooth sailing (and properly working landing gear).

How come all this happens to you? Almost 5 years of flying and never once did anything this exciting happen to me - thank god!!
Still, atleast it makes for semi-interesting reading. I can't get over your story of the pilots and the de-icing incident. You should blog that.
