CNN, MSNBC, FOX what are you doing?

So some woman goes crazy - falsifies a report of being kidnapped - and returns unscathed. Do we really need to spend more than 13 seconds covering her return? What a royal waste of airwaves.
Hayden had it right. They will put anything on to get eyeballs.
Consipracy alert - Personally based on the numerous showers and voluminous guest list, I suspect that in fact the parents of the bride are quite rich. Upon having their daghter vanish - they pulled some strings to get phenomenal news coverage and now have a healthy heaping of crow to eat.

You beat me to it! This Jennifer Wilbanks thing was certainly Harangue-worthy as I cannont understand why the major news outlets latch on to specific stories like this. There are thousands of missing persons that we never hear about, but somehow the media has some kind of magic filter that gets these people's plights noticed. The first section of the logic in this filter is what I have termed the Summertime branch, named after the Gershwin song from Porgy and Bess. This branch of the logic has two questions, "Are they rich?" and "Are they good looking?". A positive response to either of these moves them to the second branch of logic entitled Fantasy, inspired by Sela Ward, Ashley Judd, et. al. from my perfect parrallel universe. This branch has one question "Are we currently covering any fantasy grief stories, a la the pope, or some other dead person that nobody personally knows but wants us to suck every ounce of information out of because they really have no other life?" If the answer to this is no then the story is sent to the department that takes on ridiculously non-newsworthy tasks, like determining how many times a day a dog should be walked.

CSPAN is the only real news network left that you can count on.

We have three channels of CSPAN here, and I can confidently say it is only as trustworthy as the elected officials they are covering.
